Two crews of Italy and ACI Team Romeo Ferraris have been the major players in the Principality.

With the last three runs played on Sunday, including the celebrated Turini trail, the Montecarlo Rally ended with a good result and the first Andolfi-Fenoli and De Tommaso-Bosi overall experience. Fabio Andolfi ranked 23rd absolute and 3rd in the WRC 3 class, followed by Damiano De Tommaso who finished rispectively 24th and 4th . The two crews completed all the 16 special stages and will be at the start in Portugal, the second of six events planned this year.

Claudio Bortoletto said: “Our performance was really fantastic, despite our two crews were debutants in Monte Carlo they did a really good job completing all the stages of a true hard race. Unfortunately yesterday Andolfi and Fenoli have been slowed down by a technical problem, an oil sensor malfunction, the results could have been even better. A big thank you to Romeo Ferraris that provided two excellent cars, as usual, and to ACI, particularly to the President Angelo Damiani Sticchi who came here in Monte Carlo to greet us.

Fabio Andolfi: “I am very happy to have achieved this result. This has been a tough race, in the first three days with classic Montecarlo conditions with icy and snowy traits. Today, instead, the trials were dry and I enjoyed it a lot. Many thanks also to the competitiveness of our Peugeot 208 R2 prepared by Romeo Ferraris. I have a bit ‘of regret for what happened to me yesterday morning, I pinched a tire and then I had a problem with the oil sensor that slowed me down. Many thanks to everyone who helped me, especially to my new navigator Manuel Fenoli, another debutant in this Montecarlo rally, now I look forward to Portugal.

Damiano De Tommaso: “We are very pleased to have concluded such a difficult competition that allowed us to earn experience. We have provided good performance without taking unnecessary risks and considering the lack of experience. I’m sorry I have wasted time in some stages, I would have liked to play at a different level, anyway I’m happy and satisfied with my performance. I want to thank my navigator Massimiliano Bosi, the ACI team Italy, the great Romeo Ferraris team, Pirelli and my scouts Pensotti and Beltrame that did a really good job.
