On paper, the weekend promised to be positive; in reality, it became a dream come true! The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris were dominant in the third round of the 2019 FIA WTCR season, taking home five trophies in three races. In Race-1, Ma Qing Hua conquered second, an excellent result that he improved in Race-3, which he won, with Kevin Ceccon finishing third, as he had done in Race-2. The Slovakiaring already brought well to Team Mulsanne last year, when the outfit scored there their first WTCR points; this year, the event has yielded 90 points, a result that confirms the very significant progress made in a few months by the Opera-based constructor, which has achieved entering the club of top squads in the world series for touring cars. Team Mulsanne now lies fifth in the overall standings, with 109 points, after harvesting one win, one second and two thirds in a single day. The next round is around the corner, as the fourth event of the FIA WTCR will take place this coming weekend at Zandvoort.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager
“I couldn’t imagine a better weekend. We proved competitive with both cars since free practice, something we had never achieved before in the FIA WTCR. Ma Qing Hua and Kevin Ceccon have demonstrated to be the right choice for this project and have perfectly dealt with every situation they were confronted with. Ma can feel proud of being again on the top step of a podium, four years after his last success in what was then the WTCC. Kevin has done a perfect job, climbing back positions in both races and putting pressure on Michelisz in the final laps, therefore giving Qing Hua some breathing space as he struggled with some tire degradation. I want to congratulate all the members of the team present at the track and those who work at the factory for their superb work, and I also want to thank all those people who believed in this project, especially in the challenging moments”.
