Macau is the next stop for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris in the 2019 FIA WTCR season, and what a stop! The round in the Asian uban track, one of the most spectacular in the world of motorsports, is always a stellar moment in the series, both from a sporting point of view and because of the unique atmosphere, the prestige and the huge crowds.

Team Mulsanne aims at being one of the key players of the weekend with its drivers Kevin Ceccon and Ma Qing Hua, in order to consolidate the eighth position in the Teams’ standings. It would be a meaningful achievement, as the Italian team, with 225 points, is currently ahead of Audi’s two reference teams, Comtoyou and WRT.

Ceccon is even more confident after obtaining at Suzuka three top-10 finishes, bringing to five the number of consecutive events where he has scored points. In 2018, the Italian showed a great potential amidst the guard-rails of the Guia Circuit, starting from first row and almost finishing on the podium in Race 2. For China’s Ma, it is an important race also from a personal point of view, as he will benefit from the support of his home fans in what will be his fourth appearance in Macau.

The event has its own format, with cars taking already the track on Thursday 14th for the two free practice sessions, scheduled at 9 and 13:40 local time. Friday will be devoted to qualifying, with the first session at 8:50 and the second one (split in Q1, Q2 and Q3) at 14:30. Race 1 will take place on Saturday at 14:30 while on Sunday, Race 2 will kick-off at 8:20 and Race 3 at 11:00.

Michela Cerruti, Operations Manager Romeo Ferraris:
“Macau is an incredible round, probably the most exciting of the World Touring Car calendar, but is also a very challenging event for drivers and cars, which require a very specific set-up. We are anxious to measure ourselves with the competition, especially after the good things shown in 2018, when Kevin narrowly missed a podium and Ferrara made the Top-10. Scoring more points, Team Mulsanne could consolidate its eighth position in such a competitive series as the  WTCR, proving the quality of the work done in this Giulietta TCR project”.
