The 2020 season is one of the most unusual in terms of management and organization, but in the forthcoming weeks will be respected another tradition of the world series for touring cars, which will live a back-to-back journey for its third and fourth rounds. This coming weekend the FIA WTCR will stop at the Slovakia Ring, to then move to the Hungaroring the following weekend. The double commitment will be a challenge for both crews and drivers, with the events going back to a 3-race format each. Those will be perfect opportunities to harvest many points and to collect valuable data on the behavior of the cars and on the new Goodyear tyres introduced this year. Team Mulsanne, after clinching a first success in the FIA WTCR Trophy with Jean-Karl Vernay at the Nordschleife, will be back in action also with its second Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce by Romeo Ferraris, entrusted to Luca Filippi, who is entered as a wild card, as per the programme established at the beginning of the season.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager

“In an odd season like the 2020 one, to have two consecutive rounds brings back some of the challenges we had in the past. It will be a testing exercise for the mechanics who will have to work full steam, but also for the drivers, who will have to stay focused and maximize their efforts and preparation. The weather conditions could be a question mark, as we will have to operate on tracks where in the past, we have always had warm temperatures and high humidity, with rain always a possibility. Historically, the Slovakia Ring has proven to be a friendly track to our cars, so there will be some expectations, although the field is a very different one. What is unchanged though is the determination with which we approach this weekend, which will also see in Copenhagen the launch of PURE ETCR, which represents a new chapter in the history of our sports and of our company.”
