The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris conquered its maiden win in the TCR Australia at Phillip Island, in the second round of the series that has brought TCR racing to the Pacific. After two podium finishes in the season-opening round one month ago, Dylan O’Keeffe played a leading role by taking pole position and dominating the race, with a 5-second advantage on the competition. Thanks to this win, the driver of A. Seward Motorsport is second in the overall standings, with 152 points, only 6 behind the leader. Following the triumph of Team Mulsanne at the Slovakia Ring in the FIA WTCR, this is the second international success of the Italian car this year.

As if it wasn’t enough, O’Keeffe also won the second race of the weekend, while he saw the chances of a third podium finish ruined in Race 3 because of an incident at the start. Phillip Island has been a valuable validation test for the cars built at Opera, and namely for the Veloce restyling that has now proven a winning package on the international touring car scene. Moreover, the 2018 version of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris that won last year at Suzuka in the FIA WTCR continues to collect great results, as it happened in the US, in the TC America, at Sonoma. James Walker, who defends the colors of Risi Competizione, present as from this year also in touring car racing after opting for the Italian brand to engage in this venture, has climbed to the podium in Race-1, adding a P5 finish in Race-2.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager
“In a weekend of break for our crews involved in the world series, we harvested many satisfactions from our customers racing around the world. Two wakes up for two consecutive days with the fantastic news of pole position and victory in Australia is a great feeling! And to hear about one podium and a Top-5 in America a very nice way to conclude the day. All this proves how are cars are able to compete and win at the highest level and in all kind of situations. It gives us great pride to see the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris playing a prominent role in all TCR series, and it is a fantastic reward for all the efforts that a small constructor like us is doing”.
