The first-ever round of the PURE ETCR is now in the history books, and Romeo Ferraris is proud to have taken part as a constructor in the inaugural races of the first international series for electric Touring cars. Vallelunga has set the scenery for two intense days of racing with an innovative format that has seduced TV watchers and involved drivers. An initial draw has seen participants distributed in groups and heats contested with different power outputs (300, 450 and 500 KW), with the addition of the power-up to spice up the show.

The Opera-based squad, the only Italian constructor involved in the series and competing in home soil, has conquered two third positions thanks to Rodrigo Baptista and Luca Filippi. The Brazilian, the latest addition to the driver line-up, culminated with a third a solid race in the DHL Super Final – Pool A del Round 4, after a lively duel with the more experienced Jordi Gené. Equally rewarding was the third position conquered by Filippi in the same session of Pool B, which earned him a total of 56 points that allow him to lie fifth in the championship, ahead of Baptista (43).

The PURE ETCR regulation foresees that two drivers share the same car, with Oliver Webb and Stefano Coletti shining during the first day of the competition, when took place knockout duels, contrarily to Sunday’s races with all cars on track. The Brit took third in  Battle 1 – Pool B in Round 1 and won Battle 3 – Pool B of Round 2, while Coletti took second in Battle 2 – Pool A of Round 1 and won in Round 2

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager
“I am very happy with how this first PURE ETCR event worked. We have taken part in the drafting of a new chapter in motorsport history. The first electric competition for Touring cars involving brands has officially taken off and it has been a great show. WSC and Eurosport Events have done their utmost to stage a very innovative show for constructors like us. I am proud of the work that Romeo Ferraris has done, managing to field two cars in a very short period of time, with drivers that have proven competitive, fierce and able to approach all the phases of an event where everything was new. we are confident in the next steps of this new venture and are conscious of being part of something really unique in its kind”.
