Romeo Ferraris is glad to announce that it has hired Jean-Karl Vernay to drive in the PURE ETCR series. Following the start of a successful cooperation in the FIA WTCR between Team Mulsanne and the French driver at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris, the constructor based at Opera near Milan has deemed Vernay as the driver having the required capabilities to develop the new Alfa Romeo Giulia ETCR.

Vernay, who is taking part to the challenging 2020 world series, has proved great professionalism, technical skills and ability to adapt to any track circumstance. These qualities make of him an ideal candidate to take part in the development of the project launched a year ago by Romeo Ferraris.

Jean-Karl Vernay’s announcement is a further step as we near the launch event of the series, scheduled on 8 October in Copenhagen and aimed at supporting the efforts undertaken by Eurosport Events, WSC and Romeo Ferraris in the preparation and promotion of this innovative series bound to revolutionize the traditional set-up of motorsports.

We will follow with great attention the event launch in Denmark and look forward to first chapter of a new story that will certainly be … electrifying!”

“I’m glad to have the possibility to contribute to a unique new project. I want to thank Romeo Ferraris, and in particular Michela Cerruti and Mario Ferraris who have believed in me and reconfirmed their confidence entrusting me an important and exciting task like developing a new car. It is something that I have done in the past, but it will be the first time I will do it for an electric car, and this is tremendously attractive and motivating as well looking at the new innovative PURE ETCR concept developed by Eurosport Events.”
