Romeo Ferraris will be contesting the 2020 FIA WTCR. For the third year in a row, the Opera-based constructor will see Team Mulsanne enter the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR that will compete against top manufacturers in the most prestigious series for touring cars. The Italian outfit made history by taking the pole position and victory with Kevin Ceccon at Suzuka in 2018 and replicated the success at the Slovakia Ring in 2019 with Ma Qing Hua, bringing back the Alfa Romeo brand to success in touring car racing after one decade. The 2020 season proposes a competition to take place exclusively in Europe, given the global constraints prompted by the Coronavirus pandemic, but the challenge won’t be of lesser intensity by any means. The start of the season is scheduled at the Salzburgring on 13 September, and will be preceded by collective tests, then the WTCR will visit the Nordschleife, the Slovakia Ring, the Hungaroring, Motorland and end in Italy, at Adria, on 15 November. All the action will thus happen in only two months, which will oblige to maximize the efforts and the resources. Alongside the FIA WTCR campaign, Romeo Ferraris staff will continue to assist the cars entered in national TCR series in America, Australia, Denmark and Japan.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager

“A lot of things have changed in recent months, but not our approach to racing and the way we live our passion. Contrarily to what planned, the cars of last year are still with us, and it seemed natural to continue this fantastic journey. We have decided to support the projects of Team Mulsanne and the efforts of Eurosport for organizing the 2020 FIA WTCR in such complex and difficult times. We believe that it is important to give positive messages, also to our customer teams around the world. The six rounds of the championship are an exciting challenge that we take on with pleasure. Very shortly we will announce our line-up, as we dive into this breath-taking 2020 season.”
