Excellent debut in the 2019 FIA WTCR at Marrakech for Team Mulsanne and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR by Romeo Ferraris. Both Ma Qing Hua and Kevin Ceccon have been able to place their cars in the points, in Race-3 and Race-1 respectively, harvesting a total of 14 points. Thanks to two 9th places, the Chinese and the Italian confirmed the team’s presence in the Top-10, where it ended the 2018 season. The restyling made by Romeo Ferraris on the Giulietta Veloce and the work during the winter by all rivals were the big question mark ahead the kick-off of the new season of the world’s top touring car series. While Ma has been slowed by two punctures, one in Qualifying and one in Race-2, Ceccon was unlucky in Sunday’s qualifying, where a Full-Course Yellow and then traffic, an unavoidable circumstance on a urban track like the Moroccan one, prevented him to do better than 20th on the grid. The two drivers are in 15th and 16th position in the Drivers’ standings, with Team Mulsanne lie 9th in the Teams’ rankings. The next round is scheduled on the hilly Hungaroring end of this month.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager
“Compared to 2018, we could not have a better start of the season. Last year, at Marrakech, we struggled a lot, and we did not reach the points zone until mid-season. Even with the change in the points scoring system, our objective was the Top-10, and to reach it with both drivers as from the first round is a great result. The gaps have been extremely narrow, with one tenth resulting in five rows gained or lost, and this makes us very happy of the great work done by the team and the drivers. The Veloce evolution has proven worth the denomination, but clearly, we can improve and do better, which is what we will aim at as from the next round at Budapest, on 28th April.”
